Position:

Senior Director of Digital Communications Engineering, reporting directy to the Senior Vice President of IT Infrastructure and Operations.

 

Location:

Hybrid (Greater Atlanta Area) or Remote

 

Position Overview:

As Senior Director of Digitial Communications Engineering, your role is to lead a team of engineers who are responsible for the operational performance and development of corporate and contact center telephony platforms.  This role serves as the primary liaison for business operation teams leveraging GreenSky’s interactive voice response (IVR), automatic call distributor (ACD), chatbots, and related technologies to ensuring high availability, security, efficiency, and scalability. The ideal candidate has proven leadership experience in mission-critical telephony systems, delivers measurable operational improvements, and provides hands-on guidance in deploying contact center solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of telecom engineers responsible for designing, developing, and implementing improvement strategies for IVR, ACD, call recording analytics, chatbots, artificial intelligence, and other remote worker solutions, to optimize GreenSky telephony technologies.
  • Build relationships with key technical and business stakeholders to drive collaboration and informed decision-making.
  • Partner with technical and business leaders to influence decisions and maximize platform value.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and implement system changes as needed.
  • Be the go-to expert for Incident, Problem, and Change Management impacting telephony systems.
  • Oversee on-call schedules, vendor patching, capacity planning, and performance reviews.
  • Manage strategic vendor relationships to ensure delivery excellence and SLA compliance.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team that thrives on collaboration and innovation.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of telephony and contact center platforms, especially Genesys PureConnect and Cisco/Broadsoft (on-prem and cloud).
  • Strong understanding of supporting technologies: remote/virtual desktops, VoIP, storage, backup, web, middleware, databases, Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with business processes and their impact on customer experience technology.
  • Solid grasp of customer service methodologies and contact center metrics.
  • 10–15 years of experience managing enterprise telephony and contact center solutions.
  • Deep expertise in voice, messaging, and email technologies: SIP, TDM, IVR, call routing, WFM, ACD.
  • Working knowledge of databases and SQL for call data retrieval.
  • Strong architecture and systems planning skills; experience with omni-channel technologies.
  • Extensive background in infrastructure design, deployment, operations, and lifecycle management.
  • Lead engineering teams to design, develop, test, and release cycles following SDLC best practices.

Our compensation structure is designed to reflect the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets. The base salary for this role ranges from $170,000 per year to $180,000 per year. Compensation will be determined by several factors, including relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus within a comprehensive total rewards package, alongside a full suite of medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, life insurance, 401k retirement benefits, paid time off, paid holidays, and paid personal/sick time.
