Position: Senior Analyst - Strategic Relations Data Analytics (Member of the Capital Markets team within Strategic Relations, reporting to the VP of Capital Markets - Data & Analytics). 

 

Location: Hybrid (Sandy Spring, GA) 2 days in the office/3 days remote 

 

Overview: GreenSky’s Strategic Relations Team integrates the GreenSky® Program’s Bank Partner loan origination efforts and its Capital Markets asset funding, distribution and sales processes.  The Capital Markets team works closely with internal and external partners to coordinate asset funding and distribution via committed credit facilities, the asset-backed securitization (ABS) market, forward flow sales and other channels.

The role’s responsibilities include a variety of collateral, data and analytics-related efforts, including: (a) supporting the forecasting of loan portfolio funding, balances and performance for internal stakeholders, Bank Partners in the GreenSky Program and institutional investors, among other market participants; (b) developing and implementing strategies to maintain compliance within funding and sales commitments in the context of credit facilities and asset sales; (c) refining existing (or creating new) tools to create and optimize portfolios for Capital Markets transactions and (d) supporting GreenSky-sponsored Capital Markets transactions, including ABS. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Improve existing processes (or develop new approaches) for data integrity assessments and performance monitoring of Capital Markets transactions.
  • Support the negotiation and execution of ABS and other sales among all transaction parties, including GreenSky, investment banks, institutional investors and rating agencies, among others.  
  • Maintain and create insightful Tableau dashboards that track KPI’s for funding metrics.
  • Incorporate loan origination forecasts, funding partner commitments and Capital Markets opportunities into the Company’s liquidity strategies across multiple business lines.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively across several GreenSky departments, including Credit Risk, Accounting, Controllers, Enterprise Risk Management, Legal & Compliance, Treasury and Product Management.
  • Create executive-level and detailed reporting metrics on a recurring and ad hoc basis.
  • Support fair value assessments for GreenSky’s Finance team through monthly price executions and maintaining models used in the development of loss and prepayment assumptions.
  • Assist GreenSky’s Finance team with requests relating to historical and prospective Capital Markets efforts, portfolio composition and other relevant data characteristics in support of internal valuation efforts and third-party transactions.
  • Collaborate with GreenSky Product and Business Development teams to identify ways to automate and optimize code to meet all data and analytics needs.
  • Support ad hoc Bank Partner requests concerning balance forecasts and related analytics.
  • Support GreenSky’s warehouse lending facilities via (i) daily borrowing, paydown and related financing activities, (ii) evaluations of performance triggers (e.g., excess spread tests and credit performance) and (iii) assessments of asset-level concentration limits and related.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of structured finance, securitization, consumer lending, portfolio analytics and related financial analysis and data management experience.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in programming languages and managing large data sets via Snowflake/SQL, VBA, Python, Excel, Tableau et al.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic setting.
  • Ability to collaborate and integrate this role within the broader GreenSky organization while effectively communicating with external stakeholders, including Bank Partners and our extensive Capital Markets network.
  • Clear and concise communication capabilities with excellent written, verbal and presentation skills: utilize those skills to effectively translate complex analytics, data and portfolio elements for application by senior management in valuation, forecasting and transaction negotiations.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Capital Markets and/or bank loan origination experience.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in technical fields such as Engineering, Economics, Math, Finance, Business, Computer Science, Quantitative and Computational Finance, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge and previous experience with consumer or residential mortgage lending credit risk.
  • Hands-on experience in loan data, analytics and reporting, preferably in a capital markets environment (such as ABS or mortgage-backed securitization) or in a treasury management function for a consumer loan originator or servicer.
  • Strong understanding of quantitative financial analysis with a proven ability to assess risk implications of financial products.
