About This Opportunity


Role: Sr. Data Analyst , Compliance Testing

 

Overview: The Greensky compliance testing team is responsible for evaluating adherence to the inventory of applicable regulatory requirements via evaluation of policies, procedures, processes, and loan level testing. The types of regulatory requirements include consumer finance related areas, such as CFPB, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Service Members Civil Relief Act (SCRA), and UDAAP (Unfair Deceptive and Abusive Practices).

 

The Sr. Data Analyst role will be a core member of the Compliance Testing team and is responsible for helping to support all data related aspects of the group including the sourcing, evaluation, automation, mapping and scripting for the loan level testing.

 

Responsibilities include ensuring that the appropriate data elements are sourced for testing, supporting operational and executive level reporting, including automation of the reporting package and testing process, and broadly supporting data analysis and data architecture within the group.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Support execution of our compliance management system (“CMS”) for consumer lending / servicing policies, procedures, and processes, focusing on consumer-facing activities
• Provide analytical support in the review of internal controls for key processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Develop and maintain data sampling scripts for manual compliance testing efforts
• Develop an automated testing framework / infrastructure that can be easily maintained and scaled to accommodate evolving compliance needs
• Develop automated testing scripts to assess the effectiveness of internal controls.
• Perform root cause analysis of changing trends to identify performance drivers with minimal assistance
• Lead quantitative analysis to analyze large datasets to identify emerging performance trends
• Prepare summary compliance testing and monitoring results for reporting to management in Legal, Compliance, and Operational business functions
• Effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, the results of testing and monitoring activities, including control weaknesses and remediation plans
• Develop, manage, and report on Compliance KPIs
• Be the trusted internal resource by demonstrating a deep understanding in your area of ownership

Required Skills/Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science etc.
• Must have at least 3 years of experience in a relevant analytical or quantitative role with compliance, risk management, or similar functions for a financial services organization
• Ability to analyze large datasets using SQL or Python
• Working knowledge of Tableau and data visualization concepts
• Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities
• Strong problem solving, decision making, and analytical abilities
• Passionate about using data and analytics to solve problems and eager to learn about financial services and consumer lending.
• Flexibility, perseverance, and ability to thrive in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, and demanding environment
• Skilled communicator with ability to influence others

Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science
