Position:    Site Reliability Engineer

 

Location:    Atlanta, GA (Remote)

 

Overview:         

We are seeking a talented and experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team at Greensky FinTech. As an SRE, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our platform, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and best practices to deliver exceptional services to our customers and partners.

Organizational: This position is a member of the IT Operations Team, reporting to the DevOps Manager.

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Maintain Scalable Infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain scalable and highly available infrastructure solutions to support Greensky FinTech's financial applications and services. Ensure that the infrastructure meets performance, reliability, and security requirements.

 

  1. Automate Deployment and Configuration: Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to automate deployment, configuration, and management tasks. Use infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles and tools to ensure consistency and repeatability in deployments.

 

  1. Monitor System Performance: Monitor system performance, reliability, and security metrics to identify and address issues proactively. Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to provide visibility into system behavior and performance.

 

  1. Incident Response and Troubleshooting: Participate in incident response and troubleshooting efforts to resolve production issues quickly and effectively. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.

 

  1. Capacity Planning and Optimization: Perform capacity planning and optimization to ensure that the infrastructure can accommodate current and future growth. Identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.

 

  1. Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and controls to protect Greensky FinTech's infrastructure and data. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, such as PCI DSS and SOC 2.

 

  1. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and ensure the availability of critical systems and services in the event of a disaster or outage.

 

  1. Collaborate with Engineering Teams: Collaborate with software engineering teams to ensure that infrastructure requirements are considered in the design and development of new features and applications. Provide guidance on best practices for building scalable and reliable systems.

 

  1. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure that they are well-documented and easily accessible. Share knowledge and best practices with team members to promote continuous learning and improvement.

 

  1. Stay Up to Date with Technology Trends: Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in site reliability engineering, cloud computing, and infrastructure management. Evaluate new technologies and tools to assess their potential impact on Greensky FinTech's infrastructure.

 

Required Skills/Qualifications

These responsibilities outline the key areas where a Site Reliability Engineer at Greensky FinTech would be expected to contribute. Depending on the specific needs of the organization, additional responsibilities may be added or modified accordingly.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and relevant work experience in related field required, (bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering.
  • Expertise in RedHat/Linux Systems Engineering.
    Proficiency in Python scripting.
  • Experience with CDK and Typescript (preferred)
  • Expertise in AWS (Infrastructure Realm) cloud services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.
  • Experience with configuration management and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, and Terraform.
  • LDAP experience. High level of knowledge and understanding of configuration and design.
  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools such as Jenkins, GIT Lab Runners.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS, EKS.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and SVN.
  • Experience with testing and monitoring tools such as DataDog, Splunk, or Grafana. (Rundeck)
  • Knowledge of best practices and principles of DevOps, including infrastructure as code, automation, scalability, reliability, and security.
  • High availability to run multiple regions.
