Duties & Responsibilities

Work location:  Hybrid (2-3 days/week in our Sandy Springs office and remote)

The Financial Analyst is expected to collaborate closely with Finance and Business Leaders in providing vital financial planning and other FP&A related requests.

The Financial Analyst will support the core FP&A processes for the assigned business unit and/or assigned expense P&L lines and will support consolidation efforts. The role is expected to collaborate closely with the FP&A team and Business Leaders in providing vital Financial Intelligence and Partnership.

 

Job Duties:

  • Creates insightful and action generating variance analysis for assigned business unit, expense P&L lines and metrics. To that objective, diligently pursues root cause analysis on own initiative with team direction. 
  • Creates and maintains forecasts for assigned business unit, expense P&L lines and metrics.
  • Presents financial analysis to finance and business leadership on a regular and ad-hoc basis.
  • Initiates and supports optimization strategies for assigned expense P&L lines.
  • Supports business case evaluation and other business decision making
  • Provides support to accounting team during monthly close cycles and as needed.
  • Performs various other special projects and analysis as assigned.
  • Meets timelines for various deliverables while maintaining excellent quality of work

Required Skills/Qualifications

Required skills:

  • The ideal candidate would have 2-4 years of high-quality FP&A experience, including internship experience. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with high energy and unyielding intellectual curiosity.
  • Advanced financial modelling skills are required. The successful candidate must possess superior intelligence with a record of increasing responsibilities and success.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Workday or another accounting system, Reporting Automation, Contemporary database/SQL/Query, financial modelling, and business intelligence software modules such as Tableau, preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in business, finance, accounting, math or a related field with a distinguished academic record required. 

Job Competencies:

  • Financial Planning & Analysis Capabilities: Leading Candidates must possess FP&A or accounting experience, including the ability to develop and maintain financial projections and budgets. 
  • Financial Modeling and Data Capabilities: Financial modeling skills, pivot tables, and other contemporary modeling, automation and excel techniques.
  • Problem Solving & Analytical Orientation: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills that are used to track, analyze, interpret, and report key historical and projected operating metrics, trends, and financial results. Able to take “deep dive” into the details of the business while staying focused on the big picture. Takes a systematic, structured view of situations, deconstructing them into their fundamental elements. Insists on proof in data and peels back layers to understand root causes.
  • Results Oriented: Results oriented, including the capacity to both think strategically and execute tactically, embodying a blend of technical, creative, business and communications skills.
  • Effective Communication and Decision Making: Highly articulate and able to convey important messages in a clear and compelling manner.  Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
