Position:  SVP Product Management

 

Location:  Remote/East Coast

 

Overview:

As a key leader of the GreenSky product development ecosystem, the SVP - Product Management maintains portfolio ownership and responsibility for defining product strategy for the Home Improvement vertical, the largest vertical in GreenSky’s portfolio. This includes defining all typical strategic factors including insights on the current business, the market, and competitors. This individual will work with the Home Improvement team to define the current state processes and capabilities, establish the desired future state and performing gap analysis between the two.

 

Following this approach, this individual will be responsible for defining the product roadmap required in terms of any development, feature functionality, and user experience of both new products, releases of existing products, and any 3rd party products/partnerships/integrations required to deliver the desired future state. In order to do this, this person will serve as the leader of a typical ecosystem of product delivery resources across multiple functions as well as collaborating with vertical industry Senior Management, Subject Matter Experts, merchants and consumers in translating market needs into product innovation and execution.

 

The SVP - Product Management will also play a key role in helping define product strategy for the overall organization. Working with the Product Management leadership this individual will help the product organization establish KPIs across all product teams, implement measurement and drive the analytics and interpretation of data into actionable results.

 

This role will be highly focused on the home improvement vertical of GreenSky’s business, the largest vertical by number of merchants and transactions.

 

The SVP - Product Management will help lead the product delivery process which will include overseeing regular execution forums in partnership with IT leadership to ensure on-time delivery and to coordinate operational and business readiness activities in support of release planning events. Additionally, this person will lead ongoing meetings to report on results and align key stakeholders to the future roadmap for the product lines.

 

Depending on skill set, experience and direction, this individual will likely manage the Product Marketing function. This group is responsible for ensuring that all merchant and consumer facing materials and assets are positioned for success across the enterprise, not just for home improvement.

 

Travel:  This position may require occasional travel to customer and non-customer sites in the US.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for setting one-to-three-year product strategy for GreenSky’s Home Improvement business.
  • Responsible for all product management activities for Home Improvement functional support groups.
  • Partner with the Home Improvement Business Unit Leader or executive sponsor to create complete needs analysis that combine business, market, and customer needs.
  • Create, design and develop business process and workflow and feature/functionality/user experience that achieves business objectives while balancing future use/scale capability to technical/operational effort.
  • Partner with Product Leadership to help drive market analysis, collect competitive intel, and establish and measure KPIs for all products across the enterprise.
  • Develop appropriately fitted product/initiative business cases that ensure that the organization is working on the highest value work to deliver on financial targets.
  • Identify and manage cross-portfolio & cross-project dependencies in conjunction with Project Management.
  • Work closely with IT and Home Improvement leadership to ensure that the infrastructure is scaling to support common and/or high-value needs in the Finance and Capital Markets organizations.
  • Responsible for supporting best-in-class User Experience by partnering with Operations, VP Merchant Experience and actively participating with the product team(s) that focus directly on the merchant and homeowner experience.

Required Skills/Qualifications

The SVP - Product Management must possess a unique blend of business, product management, project management, and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.

  • 10+ years of experience and proven success in translating business strategy and analysis into successful products
  • At least 10 years of Product Management or Development in the financial services and/or digital industry
  • At least 5 years of experience leading product teams
  • Home Improvement and/or consumer financing experience preferred
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills required, along with outstanding written and verbal communication skills, ability to analyze complex financial information, strong analytical skills, and the ability to use various product development and management software packages
  • Undergraduate degree in marketing, computer science, engineering, business or related field required, Master’s degree preferred
