Overview

The DevOps Lead will work as part of a small DevOps team to build and run a fully automated software deployment and application provisioning capability.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Deployment automation
  • Configuration management
  • Technical leadership

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design and build automated code deployment systems that simplify deployments.
  • Orchestrate application deployment all the way through multiple layers of a solution.
  • Ensure that deployments to all environments are easily repeatable and predictable.
  • Coach the delivery teams to fully leverage deployment tools and to increase team performance.
  • Move fast, break things, and determine how to fix them.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  •  Knowledge of compilers, continuous build technologies, development technology build mechanisms, API based integrations.
    • Leverage technologies such as Docker, Git, Jenkins, Redgate, Linux, NGinx, AWS Cloud, Kong, Keycloak, Maven, Gradle and others.
  • Ability to establish build processes, understanding parallel and continuous build concepts and how to implement them.
    • Design and build automated code deployment systems that simplify development work and make our work more consistent and predictable.
  • Knowledge of Product code structure to have a demonstrated ability to architect and design and builds.
    • Collaborate with development team to fulfill each other's requirements, create scripts, modify source codes if needed or workarounds (requires solid knowledge of programming)
    • System administration skills with knowledge of OS the code builds on
  • Ability to design and implement a configuration management approach that aligns with the Development strategy to build and deploy application enhancements
