Overview

The Director of Collections is responsible for managing all aspects of the collection and recovery functions for the GreenSky Consumer Loan portfolio. The incumbent will be accountable for the maximum utilization of resources and the achievement of process and financial objectives through the education, motivation, retention, and leadership of a dedicated team of 4 -15 exempt leaders who manage the activities of 100-200 frontline associates. Further responsibilities include the real time management of operational metrics and leading departmental initiatives that drive continuous process improvement and best-in-class service.

 

Location:  Crestview Hills, KY or Remote

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee all facets of the outbound and inbound procedures to collect debt for the Collection and Recovery department, including day-to-day management of any third-party service providers.
  • Ensure designated processes are compliant with all Federal and State regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate key performance indicators associated with designated operational processes, pinpointing financial and quality areas of opportunity and selecting appropriate courses of action.
  • Lead the Collection and Recovery contribution to the development of compelling and effective Customer contact, default and loss mitigation strategies.
  • Provide the Collection and Recovery Department’s operational perspective, commentary and action plans for all month end business reviews with key business partners.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders including Investor Relations, Credit Risk, Compliance & Legal, and other key operational business partners to facilitate change within the Collection and Recovery team that delivers best-in-class services.
  • Translate organization, division and business group strategies in to measurable and comprehensible metrics, at each level of the organization, via a balanced scorecard.
  • Lead the successful completion of projects by creating key milestones, tasks, assigning drivers responsible for implementation, and by measuring results against established goals and industry benchmarks.
  • Provide a functional succession plan, coaching and career path direction for direct reports based on analysis of key performance indicators and competencies.
  • Prepare, administer and retain performance improvement counseling, performance appraisals and developmental action plans, and any other documentation as outlined by GreenSky and/or Collection’s policies.
  • Participate in and facilitate information sharing with your manager, peers and direct reports in a timely and efficient fashion to ensure widespread communication.
  • Assess and enhance direct report's performance related to the GreenSky values, vision, brand, and Operating Instructions.
  • Accurately forecast and aggressively manage departmental finances and ensure compliance with GreenSky expense policies.
  • Additional assigned tasks.

 

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of previous Call Center experience
  • 5+ years of Active Collections or Recovery experience
  • 5+ years of previous management experience
  • Demonstrated integrity and value commitment
  • Proven ability to set and obtain goals
  • Outstanding behavioral coaching and development skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and motivation skills
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Established cognitive skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate Degree
  • Certified Six Sigma Green-Belt or other quality/standardization program experience such as TQM, ISO 9000, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience managing collection or recovery vendors
  • Experience with Katabat (CMC) collections system
  • Experience with Livevox platform
