  • Overview

    The Consumer Credit and Merchant Risk team designs, develops, implements, validates and monitors receivables performance through data-driven, profit-based policies and strategies across all of GreenSky’s verticals and products. The team is structured under two core functions:
    • Consumer Credit Risk Management: decision criteria for underwriting and credit lifecycle management of consumer installment loans
    • Merchant Risk Management: merchant risk underwriting, monitoring and lifecycle risk management


    Organizational: Consumer Credit Risk and Merchant Management


    Location: Atlanta, Georgia

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Provide analytical support in the identification of consumer credit risks and opportunities and the creation of strategic or tactical recommendations
    • Design portfolio monitoring, processes, and controls for managing consumer and merchant risk and identifying root causes of changes in loan performance
    • Oversee and independently conduct quantitative analysis and analyze large volumes of data to identify emerging credit performance trends
    • Collaborate with cross functional partners in finance, operations, IT, compliance, etc. to develop and test hypotheses and achieve business objectives
    • Mentor and oversee the work of analysts
    • Clearly and concisely communicate results of analysis both in writing and verbally

    Required Skills/Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.
    • 2+ years of analytics experience
    • SQL, Python, R or similar programming skills and experience
    • Passionate about using data and analytics to solve business problems and eager to learn about financial services and consumer lending
    • Skilled communicator with ability to influence others
    • Aggressive, persistent, and inquisitive personality
    • Strong organization, planning and project management skills
    • Experience analyzing data in Excel using pivot table, vlookups, charts, etc.
    • Flexibility and ability to thrive in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment


    Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
    • 2+ years of analytics experience in credit risk management, consumer or small business lending, commercial credit, or point of sale financing
    • Advanced degree in a quantitative field
