  • Overview

    Support the VP of SEC Reporting and Accounting Policy with primary ownership of the research and preparation of quarterly, annual and adhoc technical accounting policy memos.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Research accounting treatment of new transactions, interpret relevant GAAP guidance and document accounting and disclosure conclusions in a policy memo;
    • Manage/update policy memos for certain key accounting areas, including revenue recognition, equity-based accounting, leases, debt, loan receivables held for sale, servicing assets and liabilities, etc.;
    • Stay abreast of new accounting pronouncements, analyzing each for its relevance to, and impact on, the Company’s financial condition and results of operations;
    • Perform reviews/analyses of peer accounting positions;
    • Contribute to drafting of disclosures in SEC filings specifically related to critical and significant accounting policies, as well as issuance and/or adoption of new accounting pronouncements; and

    Support preparation and/or review of SEC filings as needed.

    Required Skills/Qualifications

    • 4 - 6 years of relevant work experience, specifically in technical accounting and/or auditing of public companies. Big 4 audit experience required;
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting. CPA certification required;
    • Demonstrated ability to interpret GAAP guidance based on specific facts and circumstances;
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments;
    • Team player – willing to work on a variety of tasks and assignments; and
    • Adaptable – able to switch tasks if a high priority assignment arises on short notice.
