  • Overview

    The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the human resource needs of supported business unit(s) and implementation of best practices to support achievement of corporate business objectives within a call center environment.  Involvement includes but is not limited to, employee relations, performance management, on site benefit support, organization development, training, maintenance and monitoring of local, state, and federal reporting and postings, FMLA oversight, and special projects.

     

    Travel:  Less than 10%

     

    Organizational:  This position is a member of the Human Resources team and reports to the Director, Human Resources.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Works directly with management and supervisors of call center to effectively promote positive employee relations.
    • Strategize recruiting for the year in the general area
    • Ensures compliance with state and federal laws through efficient administration of company and HR policies, procedures, programs and initiatives.
    • Conducts new orientation sessions for new hires.
    • Conducts employee meetings, investigations and complaints, and assists in training and development sessions on various topics as needed.
    • Maintains visibility with all employees and addresses any issues or concerns in a timely, professional manner.
    • Assist with communication and training of annual programs (Benefit enrollment, Performance Management, Compensation program, etc.).
    • Participates in Operations/Call Center meetings within the business and advices management on all Human Resource related topics.
    • Assists management and ensures consistent implementation of specific development plans to address performance and behavior issues.
    • Handles exit interviews and terminations.
    • Partner with site leadership to align HR and Operations 
    • Ability to drive technology, process improvement, technical training for all new HR systems
    • Completes various reports/dashboards as needed.
    • Performs other related duties as required as assigned.

    Required Skills/Qualifications

    Must have a minimum of 5 years of related experience as a Human Resources Generalist or in a progressive HR role, or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. Previous experience in a call center environment strongly preferred. The following skills and traits are required:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field; or combination of education and experience.
    • Ability to work on a wide range of sensitive and confidential matters.
    • Experience leading, strategizing and implementing recruiting strategy in Northern Kentucky/Cincinatti area.  
    • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining effective relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to work with limited supervision and high motivation.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, writing, and organization, can-do attitude required.
    • Good reasoning abilities.  Sound judgment and resourcefulness.
    • Strong computer skills (MS Office and HRIS system).
    • Ability to work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
    • Knowledge of wage-and-hour laws and regulations.
    • Partnering with the business on various employee relations issues.
    • Basic knowledge of Section 125 cafeteria plans (flexible spending accounts) and 401(k) profit-sharing plans, including maintenance, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements.
    • Enough knowledge of wage-and-hour laws and regulations to efficiently process semi-monthly payroll and accruals.
    • Experience in compensation administration, establishing ranges and understanding and researching market salary data.
